At Oregon Hillel we provide opportunities for Jewish students to explore and celebrate their Jewish identify as we work to provoke a renaissance of Jewish life. Our Mission is to maximize the number of Jews doing Jewish with other Jews. We actively seek to engage uninvolved students on their own terms: to provide them opportunities to express their Judaism in ways that are meaningful and appealing to them. Students are empowered to take responsibility for their Jewish identity, whether they wish to participate in a community service project, express themselves artistically, participate in a social event, engage in informal Jewish learning or attend religious services. There are about 1,000 Jewish students at the University of Oregon. There are no dues or fee's to "belong" to Hillel. Some events may include a fee although most programs are subsidized so it is affordable for all students. Leadership opportunities include involvement on the Jewish Student Executive Student Board, Chairperson of an Interest Group and attendance at National and Statewide leadership conferences.      Back to Agencies List
