Congregation Neveh Shalom is a synagogue dedicated to providing a home for tradition Jewish observances and study. Formed in 1961 by the merger to two proud congregations, Ahavai Shalom (est. 1869) and Neveh Zedek (est. 1895), the membership respects its history and traditions while it encourages the new concepts of tradition and outreach present in Conservative Judaism today. Facilities within the impressive structure include an extensive Jewish library, a large and well-equipped kosher kitchen and K-12 religious school, afternoon religious school and weekday preschool programs. Members may join any of the various self-directed havurot or continued education study groups. Twice monthly Tot Shabbat services, Shabbat services, Shabbat dinners and Family Life programs enhance Neveh Shalom's warm and vibrant family atmosphere. Affiliate organizations include an active Sisterhood and Men's Club; United Synagogue Youth and Kadima Youth programs, and Camp Solomon Schechter with is located near Olympia, Washington. |
