Who We Are

Incorporated as a nonprofit in 1990, the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation is dedicated to creating, promoting, and facilitating a culture of giving and serves as a permanent repository of funds available to safeguard the quality of Jewish communal life in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

In addition to developing and administering permanent charitable endowments on behalf of individuals and their families, the OJCF develops, manages and administers endowment gifts on behalf of other Oregon and SW Washington Jewish charities.

Funds established within OJCF support creative programs, capital projects, special needs, and community emergencies. Grants are also made to qualified non-Jewish charities. As all charities are tax-exempt entities, donations to these organizations are deductible under the current Internal Revenue Code rules.

Our Values

These are our timeless guiding principles:

  1. Justice and Tzedakah (tikkun olam - repairing the world)
  2. Dor L'Dor - passing on the values, the importance of elders
    and youth alike
  3. Respect (listening, responsiveness, gemilut chasadim (acts
    of loving kindness))
  4. Integrity (truthfulness, sincerity, honor)
  5. Learning (love of Judaic wisdom and teachings,
    ever-expanding knowledge)
